Talks

The 2025/26 season started in September with a bit of a look forward to the series of talks after Christmas. Before then, the following subjects are the topics for the monthly meetings:

October 16th: Northamptonshire Country Houses During the Civil War with Graham Evans

November 20th: Re-discovering Guilsborough: Iron Age and Roman Forts and the Demolished Hall with David O’Neil

December 12th: What Happened to the Princes in the Tower? With John Perkins

After Christmas, to commemorate the 800th anniversary of St Michael & All Angels, the talks will have Creaton connections, including a look at the history of the Church building, and the local connections with the Civil War.

The Orland Family

Another talk will look at the Orland family in the 18th and 19th centuries. Inspired by the two gravestones by the lychgate, Patsy Hollingum will explore this family who held important mills in the area, including a windmill near to Green Lane. If you have any connection with the Orland family or know anything about the mills in the area, please contact Patsy, email: hollingump@gmail.com.
