MANAGEMENT
The Hall is managed by a committee of Trustees, local residents whose names are registered with the Charity Commission. They are elected at the AGM, which is usually held in May. The Trustees submit an annual report on activities at the Hall to the Charity Commission.
LOCATION
Situated behind and below St. James’s Church at the top of Church Hill, the Hall is now a listed building. It was once the Village School.
ACCESS AND PARKING
The public footpath skirting the churchyard off Church Hill passes directly in front of the Hall. Vehicle access, which is signed, is via the lane just beyond the West end of the churchyard, leading to a car park with space for 20 cars.
FACILITIES
The Hall boasts a fully equipped, modern, kitchen. There is also a bar/servery and the usual offices. The main meeting room is licensed for
groups of up to 100 standing and 60 seated. There are 8 large and 5 small tables plus some 80 chairs available for functions, and a piano.
FINANCE
Coffee mornings, a tote and hiring fees contribute to the day-to-day running costs. For specific projects, like the recent refurbishing of the
kitchen, the Management Committee has benefited from the generous
support of Hollowell Steam.
